I’m Jason Byhring from Chicago with a multidisciplinary background and a passion for Data Analysis and Software Engineering.

After earning my Associates of Science in Software Development, I’ve developed full-stack applications and worked on self-directed projects that combine my passion for data and technology. I thrive on using data to explore meaningful questions and uncover actionable insights, often blending Python, SQL, and visualization tools to drive results. With a background in psychology and a foundation in software engineering, I bring a unique, multidisciplinary perspective to solving complex problems.

In five years, I hope to be thriving as a mid-level software engineer or data analyst within a collaborative, forward-thinking company— I envision myself leading impactful projects, mentoring newer team members, and continuing to sharpen my skills in cloud infrastructure, machine learning, and data-driven application development.

What have I been up to?

As a Computer Science student, I’m passionate about documenting my journey through academia and the evolving landscape of software engineering. My path is shaped not only by my curiosity for data analysis, but also by a personal story of resilience. In 2015, I sustained a rare injury that resulted in the loss of several fingers on my left hand. Since then, I’ve been driven by a mission to explore what makes this world meaningful—both through human connection and through the creative power of code. I view software not just as a career path, but as a tool to uncover insights, build solutions, and leave a positive impact on others on a large scale.
